We are working with one of Northern Ireland’s leading employers. They are currently seeking an experienced IT Architect (Applications focused).

In this exciting role, you as the Architect will research, analyse, design, propose and deliver IT architecture solutions that support the business and IT strategies.

The role would be ideally suited to an experienced Software Developer, Systems Manager (with Applications focus) or an experienced Technical Designer/Architect.

The Position:

• leads efforts to ensure common architecture decisions are implemented consistently in a specific IT architecture domain (infrastructure / applications / business process / data).

• Leads efforts to provide integrated systems analysis and recommends appropriate hardware, software and communications solutions.

• Specifies and designs small and / or moderately complex systems.

• Selects appropriate design standards, methods and tools and ensures they are applied 

• Adheres to and influences policy for the selection of architecture components.

• Produces high level design documentation to contribute to the development of architecture in a specific business or technical area.

• Produces detailed component specifications and translates these into detailed designs for implementation using selected products.

• Provides advice on aspects of system development and integration and ensures that the relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices are applied effectively.

   

Does this sound like you?

• BSC in Computer Science, Information Technology or related subject(s) or equivalent work experience.

• Typically 5+ years of experience across multiple IT areas and 2-3 years of relevant Applications architecture experience.

• Experience working with third party IT service providers and consultancies.

• Experience of principles and practices involved in solutions development, maintenance, service delivery and project delivery.

• Excellent inter-personal skills, confidence dealing with colleagues.

• High level of responsibility and ownership of technical issues.

• Good technical understanding and  aptitude to remain up to date with technology and industry developments.

Desirable criteria:

• TOGAF or Zachman Certified or equivalent recognized architecture certification.

• Experience in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.

• Experience in a regulated environment.

• Good Knowledge of CRM, SCM, ERP, MES or LIMS systems.

• Process Modelling Frameworks (APQC) and Tools (Visio) knoweldge
