IT Support Analyst-Applications (Greater Belfast)

We are working with a major client.  They have an urgent requirement for an Application Support professional to join their team.  You will work with modern technologies and see the impact of what you do within the wider business.

Playing a key role within a team who provide support for a range of corporate and operational systems/applications you will have a thorough understanding of application support within a complex integrated systems environment. You will also have the ability to provide support and maintenance services for a range of existing and new applications and systems.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To provide second and third line support of a wide range of business applications.
  • Liaise with and manage support from external 3rd party suppliers and contractors, including contract reviews and SLA tracking and reporting
  • Project activity where you will support Project Managers and be the Subject Matter expert for your own suite of Applications
  • Call logging, prioritisation and tracking numerous issues of varying severity and effectively managing the resolution of all externally supplied and in-house developed applications;
  • Meeting with users throughout the Group to determine requirements and discuss issues.

Essential Criteria

  • Third Level Qualification in a Computer Science or IT related subject.
  • Previous support role experience
  • Excellent decision making skills and an ability to prioritise tasks.
  • MS Windows 2008/2012




Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience working with and supporting business-critical systems.
  • Working knowledge of change management.
  • Working knowledge of SQL. 
  • Linux exposure advantageous (Training will be given)
  • Web administration
