Software Developers (Perl/Java)

Our client are a cloud leader in Digital Transformation.

They have a strong track record as one of the fastest growing providers of their kind, driven by a clear strategy to help their customers address sustained and significant change and to transform the way they work.

They currently have a number of requirements within their growing applications function.  This is an NI based role with flexible working.  It is currently remote, but when things settle post –Covid there will be some time in the office and on customer site.

This is a key role to work on a long term programme as it moves towards a significant new framework.

 

The role entails:

  • Work as part of a team to translate business needs into the design of solutions for external clients, and internal product teams.
  • Work as part of a team to design, develop and deliver client solutions, proof of concepts and client demonstrations.
  • Participate in meetings with stakeholders.
  • Work as part of a team to develop fully costed technical solutions for a range of projects.
  • Assist with estimation and planning.

 

Does this sound like you?

  • Upper second class or first class honours degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic or Electrical Engineering or similar science based degree.

 

Technologies, Methodologies and Frameworks:

 

  • Experience of SDLC processes and methodologies.
  • In-depth experience of development in one or more languages e.g. Perl, Java  (or similar e.g Python or  Linux/ShellScript)
  • Knowledge and experience of using the LAMP stack – Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl
  • Knowledge and experience of MySQL or other RDBM

 

  • Industry recognised Technical Qualifications
  • Telecoms domain knowledge, particularly in terms of BSS & OSS

Technologies, Methodologies and Frameworks

  • Knowledge and experience of development using Java and its associated tools and frameworks
  • Experience in test-driven and behaviour-driven development
  • Knowledge and experience of Microservices, Webservices and associated technologies and frameworks including Rest, SOAP, JSON.
